Willingboro Public Library
Hotspot Lending Policy
In order to promote access to online resources and bridge the digital divide, Willingboro Public Library lends mobile Wifi hotspots. Adult borrowers in good standing may borrow on their library cards; parents or guardians may borrow for those under 18.
Hotspots may be borrowed for seven days. Borrowers may not loan a hotspot to any other person while the hotspot is on loan to them. Hotspots must be returned at the end of the loan period and may not be renewed. If a hotspot should be one day overdue, it will be deactivated rendering it unusable. The late fee is $5 per day, with a maximum fine of $50. Hotspots should be returned only to the circulation desk and not put in the bookdrop. There will be a $5 fine for bookdrop return. Hotspots are available for loan on a first-come first served basis when not checked out. Holds may be placed on hotspots but borrowers must pick them up within three days.
All components must be present and in good condition upon return. The borrower is responsible for any changes in condition of the device while in their care. Damaged, lost or stolen hotspots will be charged to the borrower for $50. The library reserves the right to refuse lending of hotspots to borrowers who have damaged or lost the equipment or have returned the items late more than once.
The library is not responsible for any liability, damages, or expenses resulting from use or misuse of hotspots or for personal information shared over the Internet. Engaging in behavior meant to cause harm or using websites that are illegal or contain illegal content when using the hotspot will result in loss of hotspot borrowing privileges and possible notification to law enforcement.
