Children's Programs

Program: Read Across America Day

Day, Date & Time: Tues., Mar. 2, All Day

Ages: Pre-K - 6

Registration: Not required

Get caught reading at the Willingboro Public Library on Read Across America Day and receive a prize!

 

Program: Tiny Tots Story Time

Day, Date & Time: Tues., Mar., 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31, 10:30 a.m.

Ages: 18 mos. - 4 yrs.

Registration: Ongoing

Join your library friends for story time and learn new finger plays! Afterwards, parent/child interactive toys and snacks await you in the meeting room for your enjoyment!

 

Program: Sunday Book Party

Day, Date & Time: Sun., Mar. 21, 2 p.m.

Ages: 4-10

Registration: Begins Mar.. 7

Join your library friends for a Sunday afternoon of stories, crafts and snacks.  Each book party will spark your imagination as you enjoy story time adventures and fun, creative crafts.  Light refreshments will be served.

 

Teen Programs

 

Program: Cover2Cover Book Club (@ WHS MVP Room)

Day, Date & Time: Mon., Mar. 8, 3 p.m.

Grades: 9-12

Registration: Not required

Read any good books lately?  Get together with friends and talk about the latest great reads for teens!  A new and exciting book is discussed each month.  This program will be held in Willingboro High School's MVP Room.  All area high school students are welcome to attend.

 

Program: Newbery Book Club

Day, Date & Time: Wed., Mar. 10, 3:30 p.m.

Grades: 6-8

Registration: Ongoing

Discuss the latest and coolest books for young teens over refreshments.  Participants receive the selected books free every month, and a lively discussion is always welcome.

 

Family Programs

 

Program: Meet the Dinosaur Artist, Philip Renne

Day, Date & Time: Sat., Mar. 13, 2:30 p.m.

All Ages Welcome

Registration: Begins Feb. 27

Bring the whole family for a reading of Philip Renne's new book, Tyrannosaurus vs. Velociraptor, the first in the DynoWars series.  Philip is an employee here at the library and he is also an extraordinary artist!  Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.  Light refreshments will be served.

Program: What Are Willingboro Library Patrons Reading? Book Café!

Day, Date & Time: Wed., Mar. 10, 10:30 a.m.

Registration:  Begins Feb 22

Come and share your good reads with other library patrons over brunch. Come with one to three books that you have recently read and tell us about it. Or just come and find out what good books to read. We can't keep a good book to ourselves.

 

Program: Discussion with Gloria Harbin, author of 30¢ and a Prayer

Day, Date & Time: Wed., Mar. 17, 7 p.m.

Registration: Begins Mar. 3

Local author Gloria Harbin will discuss her latest book 30¢ and a Prayer. This book is the true-life story of Lavonia Harlow, who broke free from a physically-abusive marriage to become an ordained minister. A copy of Mrs. Harbin's book will be raffled at this event. Light refreshments will also be served.

Adult Programs

Program: Poetry Writing Workshop

Day, Date & Time: Mon., Apr. 12, 7 p.m.

Registration: Begins on March 29

Poetry workshop led by Alfred Encarnacion. Both experienced and beginning poets

are welcome to attend. The workshop discussion will cover issues of craft, theme,

and publication. Participants should submit poems in advance that they would like

to be critiqued by the class.

 

Program: What Are Willingboro Library Patrons Reading? Book Café!

Day, Date & Time: Wed., Apr. 14, 10:30 a.m.

Registration:  Begins Mar. 25

Come and share your good reads with other library patrons over brunch. Come with one to three books that you have recently read and tell us about it. Or just come and find out what good books to read. We can't keep a good book to ourselves.

 

Program: National Poetry Month Reading

Day, Date & Time: Sun., Apr. 18, 2 p.m.

Registration: Not required

Celebrate National Poetry Month with a reading by Kathleen Sheeder Bonanno and Rocky Wilson. The reading is free and all are welcome, especially local poets who will have the opportunity to read at an open-mic that follows the featured readings.
